Site Preparation & Development Operations
Management of mining site preparation and development with deployment of modern heavy equipment — earthworks, clearance and field infrastructure setup.
Project Description
As part of its mining operations in Central Africa, Africore Global Resources manages the complete preparation and development of mining sites. This project illustrates Africore’s ability to rapidly mobilize heavy equipment and skilled teams to prepare complex terrain in remote areas.
Scope of Works
Operations conducted include:
Clearing & Brush Cutting
- Clearing of dense vegetation (forest and bush savanna)
- Removal of stumps and plant debris
- Preparation of access and circulation tracks
Earthworks & Levelling
- Stripping of surface horizon (lateritic red earth)
- Creation of flat and stable work platforms
- Relief modelling to optimize water flow and drainage
Site Infrastructure
- Development of material storage and sorting areas
- Installation of workstations and safety zones
- Creation of perimeter drainage ditches
Equipment Deployed
The operation mobilizes heavy machinery adapted to the terrain:
- SDLG Bulldozer: large-scale clearing, earthworks and levelling
- Wheel loader: material loading and transport
- Dump trucks: soil removal and ore transport
- Compactor: platform and track consolidation
Field Team
The operation is led by a multidisciplinary team of local operators and specialist technicians, under the direct supervision of an experienced site manager. All team members have been trained in Africore’s HSE procedures and equipped with comprehensive personal protective equipment.
HSE & Community Commitment
- Zero incident: constant objective on all our sites
- Safety training before each operational phase
- Nuisance reduction: dust management, noise control
- Local employment priority in field team recruitment
- Planned rehabilitation of the site at the end of operations
